The Blancpain GT series is a series of races that use the GT3 set of regulations. These races are becoming popular not only for the length of time the endurance races are run, but also for the GT3 cars used. For those unaware, the GT3 designation is one given to cars that are close to their production counterparts. The cars must be completely street legal and be able to be used on the open road, but are adapted for the track or closed circuit. A wide variety of prestigious car manufacturers are represented in the series. The races in this series are generally flashy and exciting, because the cars are very well known. You can watch the 2015 Blancpain GT Series season live online with a Smart DNS service.
Have a look at some regulations for cars in this class. The cars in GT3 are designed to have a weight between 1200kg and 1300kg with horsepower between 500hp and 600hp. All cars have roughly the same power to weight ratio achieved by either high power and high weight or low power and low weight. GT3 cars also have traction control, ABS and built-in air jacks for fast pit stops.
The current popularity of this series comes as no surprise to some. If you have ever played the Sony Playstation series of games called Grand Turismo, you have likely seen some of the circuits in this series, as well as being familiar with the cars. In addition, the success of movies like Fast and Furious have brought these types of cars to the public eye. Here are some of the cars you would expect to see in this series, but there are certainly more.
- Audi R8 LMS
- BMW Z4
- Lamborghini Huracan
- Mercedes SLS AMG
- Bentley Continental
- Aston Martin Vantage
- Nissan GTR Nismo
- McLaren 650 S
- Ferrari 458 Italia
- Porsche 997
- Jaguar
Since some of the races are quite long, cars need to be fast and durable. Anything can happen during a 24 hour endurance race, especially during a race like the Spa-Francorchamps course. That circuit is the home of the Spa 24 hour race and is located in Belgium. The course can sometimes have dramatic weather changes that range from dry and sunny to wet and wild. Throw in some fast hills, twists, and turns and it is not hard to see why this circuit is one of the most challenging, as well as being a fan favorite. All of the races in this series are designed to push the limits of the cars. Will your favorite car win? Tune in to find out.

The problem that racing fans have is that broadcasters that offer live online streams will often restrict access based on your IP address. They will geo-block so that only users in a specific country or region can view the event. This problem can be resolved by using a Smart DNS service.
Best Smart DNS to Watch GT Series Races
You have a few Smart DNS services to choose from. When it comes to streaming live sporting events you want to make sure the company is reliable and ready to unblock the channels you plan to watch on the device you plan to stream them on. The last thing you want to do is get ready to watch a live race and be disappointed. Visiting a site only to be greeted by a restricted access message is never fun, but it’s especially annoying when you’re trying to watch your team driver. Here are some services that are up to the task.
Rank | Provider | Price | Rating | Visit |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | $3.54 28% Off | 9.9 Read Review | ||
2 | $4.16 17% Off | 9.8 Read Review | ||
3 | $3.12 37% Off | 9.6 Read Review | ||
The Smart DNS providers listed above offer free trials. The trials are open to all new members and do not require any payment information. These companies understand you need some time to test their services. Just enter your email address and test out the services free of charge. The free trial will give you a week to decide if you want to continue with their service as well as testing other channels.
We enjoy using Unblock-Us for live events. The service is easy to set up and is quite reliable. They have a full list of channels along with supported devices. You can use the service on your PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, game console, media player and more. Unblock-Us was one of the first Smart DNS services to launch and has built up a great reputation in the industry. Unblock-Us is our favorite because it has always worked and we have never had any problems with the service.
For those who want to add privacy protection we suggest OverPlay. They offer VPN access in addition to Smart DNS, however you won’t need a VPN to unblock geographic restrictions. A VPN will work for that purpose, but it’s more expensive and really just overkill. Additionally, some content providers like Hulu try to block VPNs from accessing their sites. A VPN is a good choice for those who want an encrypted connection.
